CampinasCampinas is one of the most important cities of the state of São Paulo, with approximately 260 years of history. Prior to 1842, when it was founded as a city, Campinas was a rural neighborhood that belonged to the city of Jundiaí. At that time, Campinas’ economic growth was based on the production of sugar cane and coffee. Nowadays Campinas occupies an area of 801 Km² and has a population of approximately 1 million inhabitants, distributed in four districts (Barão Geraldo, Joaquim Egídio, Sousas and Nova Aparecida) and thousands of neighborhoods.
Furthermore, there is an important service sector in Campinas, with seven shopping centers, thousands of bars and restaurants, not to mention cinemas, theatres and cultural spaces, which offer an interesting schedule of shows, spectacles, movies and exhibitions. It is also possible to find parks and green areas for leisure and cultural integration.
